Dave Browne

Executive Vice Chairman, Defender Holdings, Inc. Board of Directors

Dave Browne is the Executive Vice Chairman (EVC) of the Board of Directors for Defender Holdings, Inc. As the EVC, Dave manages the Board activities and the President/CEO. Dave has served as a Director of Defenders since December 2012, and Executive Vice Chairman since August 2015.

He holds a BSE from the University of Pennsylvania’s Wharton School of Business. He has served as CEO of multiple companies and as a Director for many businesses and non-profits.

As the President and CEO of Family Christian Stores, Dave lead the nation’s largest Christian Retailer from July 2002 through August 2006, and then also served as Chairman of the Board until April, 2009. During this time Dave and a team of great people lead a dramatic turnaround of Family Christian Stores, repositioning it from a stale bookstore to a vibrant “oasis from everyday life” that celebrated the “Christian Lifestyle”. Through the Family Christian stores and associates, the James Fund was created and touched the lives of tens of thousands of orphans and widows.

Dave also served as the CEO of LensCrafters from 1990 through 1999, helping create the world’s largest, most profitable optical company while building a unique service culture. He successfully lead the integration of LensCrafter into Luxottica (LUX) and served as CO-CEO of LUX (1998-1999). During his tenure, LensCrafters was recognized by Fortune Magazine as one of the Top 100 Companies to work for, and by the White House for its philanthropic effort: Gift of Sight. Through LensCrafters and its people, the Gift of Sight has touched millions of people with free eye care and eyewear.

He is currently serving on the boards of Athletes In Action – the world’s largest sports ministry – and Heart of the Outdoors. Previously, he served on the boards of MyEyeDr (CVG Holdings), Anthony Muñoz Foundation, Cincinnati Hills Christian Academy, National Underground Railroad Freedom Center, The Points of Light Foundation, Family Christian Stores, LUX & LQMT.

Dave is married to his wonderful wife of 30+ years, Debbie, and is the proud father of two married sons – Doug & Kate and Drake & Claire. Dave and Debbie reside just outside of Cincinnati, OH.

Ginger Martin

President & CEO, American National Bank

American National Bank is proud to be one of the few locally owned community banks in Broward County serving South Florida since 1985. Ginger Martin has been with the bank 21 of those years.

Ms. Martin’s passion for fighting against human trafficking has led her on a mountain climbing journey with The Freedom Challenge since 2014. With five climbs under her belt thus far, including a noteworthy climb of Mt. Kilimanjaro, Africa in 2015 and Machu Picchu, Peru in 2017, Ms. Martin has tirelessly raised funds and awareness for the women and children who are victims of human trafficking.

Under her leadership, the bank has received numerous awards for its financial performance and community involvement, such as the 2017 & 2016 Banky Award from The Institute for Extraordinary Banking, Business of the Year Award from South Florida Business Journal, and Small Business of the Yearfrom the Greater Fort Lauderdale Chamber of Commerce. The Commonwealth Institute named the bank one of the “Top 50 Women Led Businesses” in the state of Florida in 2017, 2016 & 2015.

In addition, Ms. Martin has been personally honored for her business leadership with awards such as 2015 Laureate by Junior Achievement Business Hall of Fame, Profiles in Leadership Honoree by Leadership Broward, and Influential Business Women by South Florida Business Journal.

Ms. Martin currently serves on the boards of Extraordinary Women Leading Change, National Christian Foundation of South Florida, FBA (Florida Bankers Association) School of Banking and FBA BancServ. She has previously served on the boards of the Florida Bankers Association, Leadership Broward Foundation, Taylor’s Closet and as a former foster parent she served on the board of 4Kids of South Florida, Inc. Ms. Martin is a member of Junior Achievement’s Circle of Wise Women, PACE Center for Girls’ PACESetters, South Florida Business Journal’s Influential Women’s Group, Strikeforce 421 Women’s Giving Circle, International Women’s Forum of Florida, and United Way of Broward County’s Women United.

Ms. Martin earned an MBA from Florida Atlantic University, a BBA in Accounting from the University of Louisiana as a Magna Cum Laude graduate, and is a Certified Public Accountant. Ms. Martin is a graduate of Leadership Broward and Lifework Leadership. She is a certified John Maxwell speaker, trainer and coach.
